lash extensions
How do I choose what set I want?
Dear Beauty offers an array of lash styles and lashes of different thickness, length and colour. Your lash set will be curated by the lash technician that will ensure you are presented with the best options that suit your eyes, style and lifestyle.
How long do eyelash extensions last?
Lash extensions may last up to 4-6 weeks. However around 3 weeks, you should have around 40% of your lash extensions left. To maintain the full look, this would be a good time to book an appointment with your lash technician to get a fill. If you choose to not get a fill, you can book an appointment for a removal or let your lashes naturally fall out. *Do NOT pick at lashes*
Do eyelash extensions damage your lashes?
This is a big misconception that many people will have due to bad lash experiences. Rest and reassure, if applied correctly and the client follows the after-care instructions, it will not ruin your natural lashes.
But I have a friend who said her lashes were damaged by lash extensions
This may be because they went to an inexperienced lash tech or your friend did not follow the proper after-care instructions
What if I have an allergy to lash extension adhesive?
At Dear Beauty, we take allergies seriously. We are equipped and educated to understand the nature of allergies. If you are allergic to lashes, please contact us so we can figure out the best possible solution for you.
What do I need to do to prepare for my appointment?
To ensure that you have a smooth and comfortable experience at your lash appointment, please note the following:
– If you are a new client, complete your client registration form
– All clients must fill the Covid-19 Release Waiver that can be found in your booking confirmation
– No eye makeup
– No caffiene
– You can bring a blanket to get comfortable during your lash nap
– Remove contacts before your appointment to avoid dry eyes or discomfort
– You can bring your own headphones. Our studio has music but if you’d like to listen to something on your own, you are more than welcome
What should I expect from my appointment?
The appointment will last around 2-3 hours. A lot of our clients fall asleep during the appointment so don’t be afraid to take your lash nap! However, if you have trouble sleeping, we can always converse with each other, listen to music or a podcast! Just let us know what type of vibe you are in to.
How often do I come in for a refill?
It is recommended that you come in every 3-4 weeks. Your natural cycle lasts around 4-6 weeks. This means that your natural lashes fall out naturally everyday. After you’ve gotten your full set, you will notice shedding where the extension falls off, with your natural lash. Don’t be alarmed, this is a good thing! Once one falls off, a new lash is growing. This is why its necessary to maintain your lash refills so that you can continue to maintain a full look.
What are the aftercare steps to maintaining my lashes?
– Do not rub or touch your eyes
– Clean lashes with lash cleansing foamer everyday
– Do not use oil-based products on or around your eyes
– Do not sleep on your face
– Stay on top of your fills (3-4 weeks)
Why is it important to wash your lashes everyday?
Washing your lashes is extremely important for your lash health. Our lashes are there to prevent debris or foreign objects fall into our eye. Now that we have lash extensions on, there is a larger surface area for our lashes to build of makeup and debris. If we don’t wash our lashes everyday, the build up may cause eye infections, eye irritation or even lash mites. Cleaning your lashes will also improve your lash retention dramatically! Without the oils and debris on your lashes, the bond between the natural lash and the extension is free from deterioration.
Can I get my lashes wet?
Yes! You can get your lashes wet right away. There is a common misconception that you are not allowed to get your lashes wet for 24-48 hours, however, this myth has been debunked. The ingredients in lash adhesives are water resistant and the glue instantly cures/dries during the appointment. Think about it this way, if we were to wait 24-48 hours to let the adhesive dry, then all of your lashes would be sticking together!
Can I wear mascara with my lash extensions?
Makeup can be worn around the eyes but not on the lashes (i.e. mascara). It is important for you to wash your lashes every day to clean the makeup and debris.

What are ombre brows?
Ombré Powder Brows is known as micropigmentation and cosmetic tattooing. The procedure is performed similar to a traditional tattoo using various devices, including the traditional tattoo coil machine, a digital rotary machine or a manual hand tool. The technique involves permanent pigmentation, it is achieved by inserting color pigments into the upper layers of the dermis. The result is an expertly applied, natural makeup look that’s smudge-proof, sweat-proof, and waterproof. Ombré Powder Brows are LOW maintenance, NOT NO MAINTENANCE! Without upkeep, pigment may fade overtime.
Does it hurt?
Pain level varies with the client’s pain tolerance, but discomfort during the procedure is generally minimal to non existent. Topical numbing cream is applied prior to application, and may apply more during the procedure upon request.
How long does it last?
Depending on your skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Ombré powder brows can typically last anywhere from 1-3 years with maintenance. They will gradually fade over time and need to be touched up for a color boost and will add more definition to the shape.
Do I need to come back for a touch-up?
After your first appointment, you may choose to get a touch up. This is not required, but recommended within 4-8 weeks for best results. Ink retention varies from person to person, but most clients achieve their desired result after 1 initial application + touch up. Touch ups vary from person to person. Many clients come back for an annual touch up to maintain their brows, but those with lighter pigments may want to come more often.
How long will it take to heal?
Healing time varies from individual to individual. The scabbing process is generally 10-14 days; however, the full healing time is 4-6 weeks.
Is there downtime?
There is no downtime associated with the procedure. Clients may experience redness and swelling which should subside within 24 hours. After the appointment any redness or irritation will subside in the next 2 hours.
